BR stumbled across a site that had these reasons to NOT LIKE Sarah Palin.  For me, they were mostly reasons TO LIKE her.  Different strokes and all that, I guess.

The top 11 things you should know about Sarah Palin:

        1) She is presently under investigation in Alaska for abuse of power

The abuse of power involves the firing of a trooper who allegedly used a taser on his 10 year old son, threatened to shoot the governor’s father, and is also the ex-b-i-l of the governor. Stuff like that should be investigated, no matter to whom the person is related.  But it sounds like she did go by-the-book, releasing a lot of information on it.  She also fired folks when she was mayor.  Maybe she’s just not afraid to make decisions that need to be made, pleasant or not.  UPDATE at Flopping Aces.

       2) She strongly supports big oil (her husband works for oil company BP)

Plus in my book.  Capitalism drives this country.  Granted, we do need to search for alternative fuels, but we can’t get there overnight.  The common, every-day man can’t afford the fancy hybrids.  We need the oil in the meantime.

       3) She stands for everything that Hillary Clinton stood against

Another plus.  While I respect HRC and her intelligent and ambitions, she doesn’t represent my beliefs.

        4) She is adamantly opposed to reproductive rights for women

No, I think she’s just against abortion.  I’m sure she could give a flip about women using preventative birth control.  She’s just for unborn babies’ rights.

        5) She has no federal or international experience.  Prior to being governor (for less than two years) she was only the mayor of a small town and a beauty queen!

Still way, way more experience than Senator Obama.  Who is no beauty queen.  And have you ever seen behind the scenes of those beauty pageants?  Serious competition.  Gives Gov. Palin a fighting edge in foreign negotiations.  Those beauty pageant women can smile while wanting to scratch out the competition’s eyes.  Keep foreign powers off guard that way. 

        6) She believes global warming is a farce and is opposed to listing the polar bear as an endangered species.

Gov. Palin takes a scientific and not emotional view on the world.  Kudos to her. 

        7) She believes creationism should be taught in public schools.

No, she believes that it should be allowed to be discussed in school WITH evolution.

       8.) She supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and anywhere else big oil wants.

A great big plus in my book.  See # 2

        9) She supports Pebble Mine which will destroy the richest salmon run in the world.

Don’t know much about this aspect.  Pros and cons listed here.

        10) She supports aerial shooting of bears and wolves in Alaska.

Again, this is local aspect in Alaska.  I don’t know enough about it to comment, really.

        11) She is pro-war.

The better way to put this is that she’s pro-defending America.  Biggest plus of all.
