I called my Mom and Dad today to make sure they were ready. They are. I normally would never call, but a couple hurricanes ago, I called and said, “Dad, are you ready…” and he said, “For what?” His response to hearing a ‘cane was coming is not printable here. He’s so on top of things, I have NO CLUE how he didn’t hear about it. So now I call and tease, “Ya ready?” He laughs.

Bou: It can happen that you don’t know immediately. We were years without cable or satellite, and often listen to CDs in the car. So yeah, it can be missed.

But given that it’s 2:11 AM and I can’t sleep…you do worry. You can be as ready as you can, but you do worry.

She’s scheduled to hit you as a Cat 1? Stay safe! I know you are prepared… but yes, there is always the worry of what might happen. Praying for her to weaken…!

Hang on tight! We’ll be prayin’ for you…

We were discussing that today too… my Mom and I. Go to bed thinking it won’t hit you and wake up with a Cat 3 barreling down on you. Those SUCK.

I’ll be thinking about y’all. The part of Texas I’m in has the heat and the humidity but we’re far enough away from the coast that even when a hurricane programs us into it’s whirly, windy and wet GPS, by the time it gets here all we get is lots of rain and some wind.
