Time Wounds All Heels

Just over 25 years ago, I had my first genuine heartache.  I had been dating my first ‘real’ boyfriend.  My family went out of town for Christmas vacation, and so I was out of contact with him during that time.  (This is back before cell phones, text messaging, internet….yeah, we rode the family dinosaur to Grandma’s house that year.)

When we got back, Bozohead was dating another girl.  Oh, how I hated her, although I didn’t say anything to anybody. I could never imagine wanting to see that girl or having anything to do with her.  Ever.

Today, I had brunch with that girl, and o.m.g. did we laugh our asses off!  Sticks  (From Chaos to Serendipity) and I had a great time.  A while back, we realized through situations mentioned in our blogs that we knew each other.   She has long-since divorced Bozohead, but damn, does she have him trained up right!  In the middle of our meal, he calls her up to tell her he’s working on her car.  Sticks is in our hometown, visiting her mother, and she has her ex doing car repairs.  I want to be Sticks when I grow up!

But I had a wonderful time, and hate that it was only for a couple of hours.  And she has gorgeous hair!  Absolutely beautiful.   And cute boys, too.  She has done such a wonderful job (despite being married to Bozohead all those years!)

Anyway, I look forward to meeting her again.  And by-the-way Sticks, Bitterroot told me to tell you that if Bozohead causes you any trouble, any trouble at all, he’d be more than happy to take care of it for you!  And thank you for allowing me a chance to laugh at Bozohead…I had long, long ago realized it wasn’t *your* fault, but you and I laughing together today was sweet justice in so many ways.

Have a safe trip back home!

I’m home safe and sound. I had such a fantastic time with you. I can’t believe the hours went by so fast. Next time we will definitely have to plan for a longer visit.

BTW, “Bozohead” fixed my car. He even bought the extra parts and told me not the worry about the money, “just deduct it from what he owes me.” Like he could ever pay off that debt. I gave him the best years of my life. He can never afford to pay that back. ;)

Bitterroot-I’ll let you know if I need your services. You’ll be the first I call. (that sound so inappropriate but you know what I mean)

Sticks – no problem, I did it once, I can do it again! ;)

For those not in the know, “Bozohead” had been repeatedly calling “Miss Who,” wanting to “get together sometime” while she and I were dating. Poor fool wouldn’t take no for an answer, and Miss Who was rather exasperated with the matter… Until I answered her phone one evening, that is. Idiot didn’t seem to think the fact that our being engaged should have anything to do with “old friends getting together now and then.”

I was…ah… emphatic about my disagreement with his reasoning.
    He never called back.

Sounds like ole Bozohead knows a good woman when he sees one. He just falls a bit short in the commitment, dependability department?
