Merry Christmas

(Reposted from ’08)

Mary did you know, that your baby boy
Would one day walk on water?
Mary did you know, that your baby boy
Will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know, that your baby boy
Has come to make you new?
This Child that you’ve delivered
Will soon deliver you!

Mary did you know, that your baby boy
Will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know, that your baby boy
Will calm a storm with His hand?
Did you know, that your baby boy
Has walked where angels trod?
When you’ve kissed your little baby
Well you’ve kissed the face of God!

The blind will see, the deaf will hear
The dead will live again!
The lame will leap, the dump will speak
The praises of the Lamb!

Mary did you know, that your baby boy
Is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know, that your baby boy
Will one day rule the nations?
Did you know, that your baby boy
Is Heaven’s Perfect Lamb!
This sleeping child your holding
Is the Great I AM! – Amen

I know not everyone who stops by here is a ‘believer’. But I would like to give you this Christmas message, regardless of your faith status. People have argued through the centuries about religion, about Jesus, and how best to live his message. I find it very sad when people use religion to tear others down. But no matter who Jesus really was, he preached love, acceptance, and forgiveness. My Christmas wish for you is that you find those gifts in your life.

Normally, I’d be late. But I can claim to be early because Orthodox Christmas isn’t for another four days. So, Merry bleated/almost Christmas.
    And Happy New Year.
